Thank you for visiting the Westfield Dems.
The Westfield Democratic Committee is the official Democratic organization representing the 25 voting districts within the Town of Westfield. Our mission is to support the ideals of the Democratic Party within Westfield by advocating for good government, encouraging grass roots participation in local elections and recruiting qualified candidates for local office.
But more importantly, the fifty members of the Westfield Democratic Committee, two from each of the voting districts, are committed to participating in the democratic process at the local level - where it matters most. Committee members are responsible for staying in touch with constituents, listening to their concerns, and bringing those concerns back to elected officials. At County meetings, members also have the opportunity to endorse candidates to represent the people at the county, state, and national levels.
I am proud that over the past three years we have ushered in local leadership that upholds the values not only of the Democratic Party but of the larger Westfield community: transparency and open communication, fiscal responsibility combined with a pro-growth, forward looking agenda, a belief that a thriving community is one that values all of its members.
Our success is not possible without the overwhelming and enthusiastic support and participation of so many hundreds of Westfield residents who canvass, drop literature, make phone calls, donate money and host events to bring to life the literal origin of the word democracy - demokratia or “the people rule.”
